Roles and Responsibilities
The Legal Directories Submissions Officer will support the firm’s business development team, including bids & proposals and communications teams. The suitable candidate will work under the Head of Business Development, Marketing & Communications.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Support the preparation and coordination of legal directory submissions, such as Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, and IFLR1000, as well as various industry award entries, including supporting related research activities.
- Track and maintain up-to-date databases of legal directory and awards rankings, as well as other relevant information required for submissions, reporting and strategic planning.
- Support the implementation of the legal directories’ strategy, including providing support to ALN firms.
- Maintain the submissions calendar for various legal directories and awards.
- Develop content and communication related to firm rankings, awards and recognitions in collaboration with the marketing and communications team.
- Liaise with external legal directories and awards bodies to ensure proper submission and follow-up.
- Provide support to the bids and proposals team when required.
Experience and Personal Qualities
The following experience is preferred
- Degree qualification (preferably in Business, Marketing or Communications).
- At least 2-3 years of experience preferably in business development or marketing within a professional services environment.
- A good understanding of the legal market will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in the use of IT Systems, including Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate clearly with a range of people from diverse backgrounds.

- The suitable candidate should have strong research, project management and analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- A strategic and creative thinker with proven experience of working with a business development team.
- Be highly organised, have excellent time management skills and can work under pressure.
- A commitment to teamwork and working in a professional manner.
- Ability to develop creative ideas and transform them into practical reality.
- Action-orientated and proactive.
