At ALN, we firmly believe in our duty to be a positive force in society, and we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the communities we call home. Our commitment to this mission is exemplified through our enduring partnership with the Faraja Cancer Support Trust.
Faraja Cancer Support Trust is a beacon of hope for those grappling with the challenges of cancer. They offer a wide array of services, from emotional support to practical assistance and healing therapies, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery. Their goal is simple yet profound: to make the arduous journey of cancer a little more bearable for patients and their devoted caregivers.
For the past eight years, we have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Faraja as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. Our engagement takes the form of the exhilarating White Water Rafting Challenge, an event that has become synonymous with our dedication to a noble cause. In 2022, our unwavering commitment shone brightly as we proudly emerged as the second-highest fundraiser in support of Faraja’s tireless battle against cancer.
Our contribution played a pivotal role in ensuring that individuals fighting cancer gained access to essential medical treatments. It enabled Faraja Cancer Support Trust to continue its inspiring mission of rewriting the stories of those touched by this relentless disease, bringing hope, healing, and respite to countless lives.
But our involvement with Faraja extends beyond the thrill of white water rafting. We also took part in Faraja’s Walk/Run event amidst the lush expanse of Karura Forest. This initiative was aimed at securing critical funding for enhancing the support offered to children facing the daunting challenge of cancer.
Our efforts are directly contributing to the creation of a weekly art and music therapy program for approximately 400 children across seven different wards in various hospitals. We are also ensuring that 400 children at Kenyatta National Hospital receive weekly distributions of milk and apples, providing them with much-needed nourishment and comfort.
Furthermore, these funds have helped to establish a Financial Medical Fund to support the vital cancer treatments required by these brave young souls. Through our partnership with Faraja, we are sowing the seeds of hope and resilience, nurturing a brighter future for those who need it most.
At ALN, we understand that our role in the community extends far beyond the confines of our daily work. We are committed to being a beacon of hope, a source of strength, and a catalyst for positive change. Together with Faraja Cancer Support Trust, we are rewriting the stories of courage, survival, and triumph in the face of adversity.
