Background
Emmanuel is an Associate at ALN Zambia | Musa Dudhia & Co. having joined the firm as a trainee in 2022 as a graduate lawyer from the University of Zambia. During his time with the firm, Emmanuel has been exposed to various disciplines of law with a bias to dispute resolution, thereby extending his knowledge, experience and interest in commercial litigation, arbitration, adjudication, construction disputes, employment disputes, intellectual property disputes, probate and domestic relations.
Emmanuel has also acquired vast experience in mining law, tax, intellectual property, real estate and construction law, assisting clients with a wide range of legal solutions.

Dispute Resolution
- Acting for Cobham Capital in arbitral proceedings commenced against a warehouse operator commenced against a warehouse operator seeking enforcement of an irrevocable holding certificate in relation to cobalt, including successfully obtaining an award for the sum of USD 64,990 as special damages, approximately USD 1.9 million as damages for lost profit and legal costs of ZMW 623 357.18 and USD 15,000 in favour of Cobham and acting for Cobham in registration and enforcement proceedings.
- Acting for Kashikoto Conservancy Limited in connection with a construction dispute involving a construction contract of more than USD 6.9 million.
- Conducting a vendor tax due diligence on Wear Check Zambia, formerly known as Set Point Zambia Limited, a company incorporated and tax resident in Zambia, in connection with a client’s proposed acquisition of the target company.

- Acting for Mukwashi Trust School in connection with facilitating the approval of the client as a Public Benefit Organization (PBO) for purposes of Zambian tax legislation, including representing the client in an appeal against the Zambia Revenue Authority’s rejection of the client’s application for PBO Status and requesting the Zambia Revenue Authority to reconsider the application on the basis that our client, inter alia, satisfies the necessary requirements of a PBO under the Income Tax Act, and its activities meet the criteria of public benefit activities as set out under the same act.
