Gwendy Bannerman

Gwendy is a partner and head of the Dispute Resolution Team at N. Dowuona & Company. She has provided legal advice on local laws and regulatory requirements to local and international businesses, corporations, financial institutions, government agencies and investment companies.

She recently advised an international company on an asset purchase transaction of a listed company, advised a joint venture company in Ghana, on its legal obligations, particularly on the local content requirements and is lead counsel for commercial litigation services for a multinational company that operates in the petroleum downstream sector.

Gwendy holds an LLB from the University of Ghana and a qualifying certificate in Law/Barrister-at-law from the Ghana Law School. She is listed on the Martindale-Hubbell list of qualified Legal Counsel and is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.

• Representing Biwater, a world leader in treated water projects, in commercial litigation action in Ghana, with a pending LCIA arbitration in respect of part of the subject matter.
• Representing Volkswagen in a commercial claim and recovery for outstanding principal amounts and penal interest rates by using the best litigation strategy for a commercially viable solution
• Representing Unibank in a claim for a bank that is currently under receivership and successfully recovering funds from the debtor company
• Representing Enterprise Projects Ventures Limited in recovering amounts owed from a hire purchase arrangement for the supply of a cold storage prefabricated equipment to an agro-processing export company in Ghana.
