Mulugeta Eshetie

Mulugeta Eshetie is a Junior Associate at MTA. He is a graduate of the law school of Addis Ababa University and has been in MTA since June 2025, where his professional engagement is principally concentrated on Corporate, Investment, Tax, Banking & Finance, and Intellectual Property matters. Prior to joining MTA, he gained substantive practical exposure during an internship at Makkobilli Law Firm LLP in Addis Ababa.

• Assisted Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer South Africa LLP in preparing the Ethiopia report for the Disputes Africa Guide 2025. 
• Participated in the preparation of Ethiopian tax manual for the provision of tax training for Pricewaterhouse Coopers. 
• Assisted Mastercard in the provision of legal advisory services on capital markets (CIS) and tax matters. 
• Assisted Bitdeer with company formation and employment-related documentation in Ethiopia. 
• Assisted Longulf Trading (UK) Ltd. in drafting consultancy agreements. 
• Provided pro bono legal support to Visa Inc. Trade and Development Bank (TDB), and  Sabin Center for Climate Change Law, Columbia University. 
• Assisted Zoscales Partners, Deloitte & Touche LLP, Boortmalt Ethiopia PLC, Asiatic Agricultural Industries Ltd in the provision of different legal advisory services in the areas of company law (local presence options, reviewing share purchase agreements), tax, intellectual property matters.
