Satyanraj Ramdoo

Satyanraj Ramdoo is a Senior Associate at BLC Robert & Associates in the M&A and Corporate & Commercial practice area. He advises primarily on mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring exercises, and business law matters. He also regularly advises on tax, data protection, and regulatory & compliance matters. In addition, he forms part of the intellectual property desk at BLC Robert & Associates and provides support on banking & finance transactions.

Satyan is heavily involved in drafting and reviewing legal documentation within the corporate and commercial sphere. He focuses on breaking down transaction complexity to provide solution-driven advice to clients. Satyan acts for various private local and foreign companies and investors acquiring a stake in or through Mauritian companies.

Satyan recently acted for Vitol & Vivo Energy in their collective acquisition of Engen Limited in South Africa and headed the Mauritian due diligence aspects of the deal. He is currently advising on the integration aspects of that transaction for the Mauritian companies within the acquirer group.

Satyan is also currently advising Vivo and IBL on ‘E-Motion’, a joint-venture project for the development of electric charging stations across Mauritius.

Some of his other recent highlights include advising Berkeley Energy in respect of a restructuring and sale of its geothermal asset in Ethiopia, advising the International Finance Corporation and other investors with respect to their investment in a Mauritian holding company of a DRC-based company providing world-class renewable energy in the DRC, and advising TOTAL S.A.S and TOTAL E&P MOZAMBIQUE AREA 1, LIMITADA on the Mauritian law aspects of the project financing for the establishment of a liquefied natural gas project in Mozambique (known as the Mozambique Area 1 LNG Project).

• Advising International Finance Corporation and other investors in connection with their investment in a Mauritian holding company of a DRC-based company providing world-class renewable energy in the DRC.
• Advising the second largest business group in Mauritius in connection with an internal restructuring in relation to the sale of its medical laboratory business in Mauritius.
• Advising Berkeley Energy in connection with the restructuring and sale of its geothermal asset in Ethiopia.

• Advising a global investment bank on regulatory & compliance matters with respect to trading precious metals in Mauritius.

• Advising a Brazilian-based financial card manufacturer in connection with its group entity rationalisation, including the disposal of its logistics company in Mauritius.
• Advising LOLC Holdings, the largest Sri Lankan conglomerate, in connection with its acquistion of Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette, a 4-star hotel in Mauritius.
• Advising TOTAL S.A.S and TOTAL E&P MOZAMBIQUE AREA 1 in connection with the Mauritian law aspects of the project financing for the establishment of the first natural liquefied natural gas project in Mozambique, known as the Mozambique Area 1 LNG Project.
