ALN Kenya’s Sonal Tejpar Appointed to the Board of INSOL International

Throughout the years, Sonal has been an instrumental figure in the restructuring and insolvency landscape. She set up the first insolvency association for the country with the support of the Official Receiver, The Turnaround and Insolvency Association of Kenya, officially launched in April 2022. Prior to this Board appointment, Sonal served as a Co-Chair of the INSOL International African Advisory Council.

Sonal has been appointed alongside Javier Lorente, Partner, Lorente & Lopez Abogados and Stephen Hair, Head of Restructuring, NatWest. This appointment is a testament to their dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the global restructuring and insolvency landscape.

In addition to her expertise, Sonal is a regular speaker at seminars on various aspects of banking and commercial law, including seminars organised by the UK-based Loan Market Association. She also sits on the Task Force established by the Official Receiver to review changes to the Insolvency Act and Regulations.

Sonal is the Chairperson of the British Chamber of Commerce Kenya whose mandate is to represent its members’ business interests and promote trade links between Kenya and Great Britain.
