In recent years, regulatory scrutiny over employer compliance with statutory social security obligations has intensified across Tanzania. The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has increasingly strengthened enforcement measures against employers who fail to remit statutory social security contributions for their employees through inspections, investigations, and court proceedings.
Established under the National Social Security Fund Act, Cap. 50 R.E. 2023 (NSSF Act), the NSSF is mandated to register members, collect contributions, and safeguard employees’ entitlement to social security benefits.
