ALN Kenya acted for Helios Investment Partners in connection with Helios’ circa USD 180 million acquisition of a 24.99% stake in Equity Group (Equity), which holds major banking institutions in five East African countries. This deal allowed Equity to execute its strategy of providing financial services to the previously unbanked population, enabling it to build Kenya’s largest account-holder base and industry-leading growth rates and profitability and transform the banking industry in the region.
