Lorna Senivassen

Lorna Senivassen joined BLC Robert as a trainee in 2018, shortly after completion of her LLB degree and is now a Junior Legal Executive within the Financial Services and Capital Markets team. She has since been involved in the drafting of fund and other legal documentation, reviewing local and foreign law documents and issuing legal opinions to investors. She has also advised on tax and re-structuring for funds and other private equity vehicles.

• Assisted in the set-up of Alitheia IDF Fund LP, a USD 75 million fund established to invest
  primarily in high-growth small and medium enterprises in Africa in connection to
  women-owned or led businesses to impact on the inclusion of more women as economic
  participants contributing to economic and social development.
• Assisted Adiwale Partners on the setting up of Adiwale Fund I L.P. which focuses on investments
  in connection with businesses in the Consumer, Business Services and Manufacturing sectors in Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso as well as Togo, Benin and Guinea.
• Assisted HWIC Asia Fund (part of the Fairfax group) on the takeover of Eagle Insurance Limited,
  an insurance company listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.
• Assisted in the drafting of various AML/CFT manuals for various funds and fund managers to
  ensure compliance with the updated AML laws of Mauritius.
• Advising companies on the ‘KYC’ regulatory requirements in Mauritius.
• Assisted with the closings of various private equity funds in Mauritius.
• Reviewed documentation from a Mauritian law perspective for the setting up of a private equity fund which assists projects to invest in mining and infrastructure assets and developments in Africa.
