Background
Sonali Ramsaha joined BLC Robert & Associates in 2023 as an Associate. Prior to that, Sonali trained at Etude Ng Wong Hing and completed her pupillage at BLC Robert & Associates before joining the team. She is a graduate of Middlesex University (Mauritius branch), holding an LL.B. She was awarded the ‘Senior Advocacy Scholarship’ in 2022 and completed her Bar Practice Course in the United Kingdom at the University of Law – Leeds.
Her current practice is focused on M&A and private equity transactions, with a predominant concentration on both domestic and cross-border private acquisitions and divestitures. Sonali is regularly called upon to advise foreign institutional investors as well as local clients on various corporate matters, including due diligence and assistance on investment documentation. She also has a keen sense for tax, compliance, and data protection and assists the tax and regulatory practice desk at BLC.
Sonali has previously provided tax advice to a Tunisian-based investment management firm on its investments in Egypt. She is currently driving a heavy vendor due diligence for a major Mauritian bornand-bred group of companies in connection with the sale of its construction business investment portfolio. She is also assisting on a regulatory due diligence of a bank in Mauritius in relation to its non-compliance with the Mauritian regulators.
