  1. Background

    Prisca is an Associate at MMAKS Advocates’ Banking and Finance team. She has a comprehensive banking and project finance practice ranging from advising international finance parties and local project companies on a variety of transactions falling largely under the power sector.

    With over 5 years’ experience, Prisca has gained an in-depth appreciation of the needs of finance parties and project companies in project finance transactions whose structures are very nuanced. Her advisory experience includes structuring, negotiating, drafting financing documentation, preparing legal opinions, conducting high-level due diligences on project companies, and advising on land acquisition and the securitisation process.

    Prisca also has considerable experience in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions which experience ranges from setting up corporate entities, drafting and reviewing of corporate transactions documents (such as share purchase agreements and shareholders agreements) and advising on structuring of transactions. She has also routinely advised various non-governmental organisations on their operations in Uganda, with an emphasis on employment, immigration, corporate and compliance aspects of their operations.

    Prisca holds an upper-second class LL.B  (Hons.) degree from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
